REFORMATION 500th ANNIVERSARY
SUNDAY, Oct. 29 – 10:00 am
Join in this special day as we commemorate the start of the Reformation in Wittenberg, Germany in 1517. Martin Luther began by protesting the misinformation, fear, and dishonest practices being used in the sale of indulgences to fund the building of St. Peter’s in Rome. While separation was not the goal of Luther, it became the only option when he was on trial to renounce his beliefs that Grace is freely given and that we are Justified before God by our faith alone. Among his words, these stood out, “Here I stand, I can do no other.”
After Worship, we will join in the Fellowship Hall for a luncheon.
This event is open to the community. If you have ridden by the Old Stone Church and wondered what it is like inside, you are invited to be with us on this special day!
