Pastor Bob began his ministry in September 2000 at the Saddle River Reformed Church, worshipping at the Old Stone Church in Upper Saddle River. Pastor Bob is a graduate of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, the oldest theological seminary in the United States beginning in 1784 – the same year the Saddle River Reformed Church was founded.
Pastor Bob has been married to his wife, Arlene since 1972. They have three sons who are married with three granddaughters and one grandson. Pastor Bob enjoys riding about northern Bergen County on his Royal Enfield motorcycle. During the summer months you might see him at Lion’s Park for an afternoon break with a bottle of Coke Zero. You might also see him at the park during weekdays with the OSC Hospitality Tent serving cold water for runners, walkers, and children in the playground.
Along with church life, Pastor Bob is a member of the Upper Saddle River Historical Society, the Upper Saddle River Library Board, and member of the USRA Coalition. Pastor Bob also led the restoration of the African American Cemetery in Upper Saddle River, part of the Hopper Goetschius House Museum.
